I’ve utilized the design engineering and rapid prototyping services of Avid Product Development since the beginning, in 2012. Their 3D printing capability alone has remained state of the art, much less their approach and resourcing to provide technical solutions. They are budget-friendly and time conscious. We’ve worked through many challenging designs and always come through with the final product or next step ”cemented” and/ or in clear focus. The team is personable, their communication is reliable and their time tables are often shorter than quoted. I will continue use of the Avid P.D. service bureau as long as they are in operation and will point my network to them for any and all rapid prototyping inquires.

How HP Multi Jet Fusion Works

HP Multi Jet Fusion (MJF) is a powder bed fusion 3D printing process that uses HP’s proprietary inkjet technology to fuse layers of powder. It applies fusing and detailing agents to control infrared heat, enabling the creation of complex parts without support structures.

After printing, parts are cooled, vacuumed, and bead blasted to remove loose powder. Optional post-processing—like smoothing, coloring, or adding inserts—enhances performance and appearance. MJF delivers durable, high-resolution parts suitable for both prototyping and end-use applications.

Multi Jet Fusion Specifications

  • Build Volume: 380 x 284 x 380 mm (15 x 11.2 x 15 in)
  • Maximum Part Size: 375 x 280 x 375 mm (14.8 x 11.0 x 14.8 in)
